HAZEL FROST

West Lafayette, IN

BIO

Hazel Frost is a ceramic and installation artist based in West Lafayette, Indiana. Her work examines the fragile relationship between humans and the natural world through collection, transformation, and display.

Frost gathers overlooked organic remnants — nests, seed pods, bones, and other natural detritus — and transforms them into ceramic forms, installations, archives, and documentation. Her work moves between vessel, specimen, artifact, and landscape, using clay and collected materials to explore preservation, decay, ecological precarity, memory, and return.

She received her M.F.A. in Ceramics from Purdue University in 2021. Her work has been exhibited at The Arts Federation, Purdue Galleries, Manifest Gallery, and other regional and national venues. Her recent work was selected as a Grand Jury Award Finalist at Manifest Gallery, and she will be an Artist in Residence at Queen City Clay in 2026.
